Tunbridge Wells Friends of the Earth is a local environmental group, linked to national Friends of the Earth. Its members are not just friends of the Earth but also friends of one another, and always welcoming anyone who wishes to join. Campaigns often depend on the time, interest or expertise of group members as well as what is perceived as local environmental concerns, for example, lobbying for the declaration of a climate emergency by the Council.
On their website, you can find summaries of the variety of activities which were organised in previous years, such as tree planting, an art exhibition, climate hustings, litter picking and events such as COP26 Global Day of Action and The Great Get Together Plastic-free Picnic in the Park.
Much of what they do is connecting with other local groups and fostering good relationships where we support one another.
